Whats up with this? I join a board I found through a link in an Ogre Battle site, and there isn't one thread really dedicated to it. For shame!
So, anybody got anything to say for the game? I'm playing through the game again(17th time now. >.>;;; ), low Chaos Frame route. I just finished the 3rd chapter, and I can't wait for Carth to join. ^^

Oh my god. ANOTHER new guy? Well, this is strange. This game is really old, so we don't really talk about it much, unless one of us just happens to be doing a replaythrough.
17 playthroughs? Thats pretty hardcore. Welcome to the boards.
Anyway, screw Carth, Biske is where its at =)

Yeah, but you get so few recruitable people in a low CF playthrough. Gotta savour them all. =p

I don't like using unique characters. No matter what the game, I'd rather use characters I create from scratch (in this case, raise from Soldiers) than storyline characters.

Yes, DV, but then you tend to use all the uber classes. resulting in units with just Paladins, SwordMasters, Lichs, a Princess, and a Dragoon, with the occasional Dragon or two. :\

After playing the game so many times, I just try to make units with themes. My Biske unit, for example, has Biske in the center with cataphracts surrounding him to keep him under control. Like a little prison. ^^ I've also got a heavenly unit, a knight unit and a "summoner" unit. I've got more themes, but I forget them for now. Anyone else do this?

I do, sort of. I always have a Caster unit - at the end of the game, its a princess, a lich, and 3 Archmages. (Most/All with the ultimate spellbooks). Meatshields? Who needs meatshields when the enemies get turned into dust instantly?

Hmm... That's interesting. I never thought of that. I just put a bunch of people together and hope it works. I think I shall try that.
I'm terrible when it comes to games. I like to rush through them so I can see the story. Then, sometime later, I'll go back and play it again.

I usualy have the front line full of knights and such, one cleric and an archer or mage. I prefer melee units within the game.

Rom users are lucky, you can speed through all the boring parts.

I never once beat that game... T_T I got close... Many times... But everytime I'd get within 2-3 battles, my saves got erased! >_< I got tired of it after about 6 tries.

hahaha
I used to always bitch about that at the old boards. Though nobody is sticking to it very much and even though 98% of the members are OBD vets this isnt an OB board.
<--shrugs--
I don't like using unique characters. No matter what the game, I'd rather use characters I create from scratch (in this case, raise from Soldiers) than storyline characters.
I always did the same thing for the most part. Id have 4 or 5 main groups and only use 3 unique characters. Magnus, Dio, and Leia.
Yeah, to continue from what i was saying. I usually have Dio with an all male group, Leia with an all female group. Then my group (Magnus) and id usually have an archmage, 2 sirens, and an enchanter. I usually had some sort of theme just to make it a little more fun and give me something to do. The customization options still to this day are one of the best aspects of the game, it still keeps it interesting for me, and you can always go back and change their names and jobs and equipment.

Did anyone ever name characters after people? And or use characters that reminded you in some way of the people you named them after. Id always spend too much time doing that.

Feel free to join up Duke. Contrary to whoever authored the news here proboards is the bombdizzle, is easy to use, has a great staff thats always working, a code wizard, and works fast. Every time ive ever joined a proboard ive gone strait to my mail after that and already have the email to get started. I digress....
Chaos frame is.... Sort of a tally that happens throughout the game. Im a bit rusty so forgive me if im off a bit but by doing different things in the game, mainly when you take control of strongholds, your chaos frame changes.
When you liberate strongholds your chaos frame goes up. To liberate a stronghold, the unit you send in must have an average alignment close to the morale of the stronghold.
When you capture strongholds your chaos frame goes down. To do this obviously you just take a low morale stronghold with a high alignment group, or vice versa. Im sure you could figure out that from there.
Chaos frame effects.... The ending you get upon finishing the game. There are 3 endings, im sure you could guess but one is with a high chaos frame, one is with a low chaos frame, and one is just in between.
Alignment can be checked through the character menu, i forget exactly where it is or if its on the main thing for each character that shows their stats. If you need help with alignment, its the first key to controlling your chaos frame.
Any other questions? If im not here im sure one of the other guys would love to help. I feel kinda bad just coming back and already takin the questions but whatever, finders keepers! <--haha-- I hope that made sense and helps you out. Im definately still an avid, and i do mean avid damnit, avid fan of this game and get exited helping or sharing ideas jokes tactics strategery and whatever else relating to this game one could think of. See ya around!

how do u get dragons and other monsters to change class? (i already know about the undead thingummy)

Dragons change class through straight up leveling, if memory serves. When they reach a high enough level, they change on their own.

Most dragons have to be a neutral alignment. White must by Lawful and Black must be chaotic. I always had a very hard time keeping my dragons neutral, but it is very much worth the effort.

I always found it amusing how eventually the only way to change a character's alignment was to use an item on them.

An item that you duplicated through cheating?

An item that you duplicated through cheating? Maybe. (In all honesty, I made it through the game my first time without cheating, so it doesn't bother me to cheat in any new games after that)
