Strategy Disgaea: Fun, but I don't have the tolerance to play the same pointless maps for hours. Phantom Brave: Haven't finished it, but I thought it was an improvement over Disgaea. Front Mission 4: Great gameplay, but the story was disappointing and it ended too soon. Stella Deus: By-the-book, but solid enough to stand on its own. Suikoden Tactics: Runes are fun to play with, but otherwise a standard SRPG. Growlanser Generations: The battle system is superb, and the presentation above average. Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits: No Arc 1 or 3, but unique enough to warrant a play-through.
Shmup: R-Type Final: Not bad, but the ships are sometimes weird and I can't get past some organ boss. Castle Shikigami 2: Hilarious translation, with voices! Not bad otherwise either. Gradius 5: Haven't spent as much time with it as I wanted, but it's probably my favorite so far. Silpheed: Mm, GameArts. Love the weapon customization, but a little easy.
RPG: Grandia 3: See thread for gushing. Grandia Xtreme: Love the battle system. Thankfully, nothing else matters. Wild Arms 3: Delivered so much more than I thought. Gets a little bland in the middle, though. Wild Arms: Alter Code F: Wild Arms 3 - fun = Alter Code F. Wild Arms 4: A nice change of pace for the series, and the music is unbelieveable. Radiata Stories: Great game. Lighthearted, funny, and an overall solid package. Star Ocean 3: Picked up cheap to see Valkyrie. Too bad I hate the battle system to get to her. FFX: I really like the sphere grid, but that's about it. Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana: An old-school 2D RPG that suffered from an old-school 2D RPG story.
Other: God of War: I was thoroughly impressed by this game. 8 hours of gaming goodness. Gungriffon Blaze: FPS mech shooters are weird, and this one is a little pointless. Megaman X8: The series should've stayed 2D and Axl's still a homo, but leagues better than X7. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil: Cutesy characters belie hardcore 2D gaming. Devil May Cry: Entertaining, but ultimately forgettable. Castlevania: Lament of Innocence: An average platformer from one of my favorite series.
Games I've played and need(want) to buy/rebuy: Dark Cloud 2, Suikoden 3, Ys 6: Ark of Napishtim, Zone of the Enders 1+2, Grandia 2, And probably more.
If I was at home, I could actually check, but this is as comprehensive as I'm probably capable of.
