Oh sure somewhat on target is nice, BUT none of this "I WILL DAMN YOU TO THE ABYSS OF HELL FOR SPEAKING ABOUT PUPPIES IN THE GAME FORUM!!!!" Oh how I miss the days of LastOne. The days when people got banned for incorrect punctuation, spelling, or plain impolite posts. =p Good thing Daemon and I were there to rebel against him. Who knows what would have happened?

Quez caused a lot of trouble in his day. I had my hand in it as well. I remember the big ole flame war.

I just got to the point where you meet Ogres. That is so great. It's done perfectly.

You mean where the two guards are like..."O...Ogres? What have they done, damn them" or whatever they say.

Yeah. Truely this is where the game begins. Before is sorta slow and the tutorial doesn't end till the Zenobian Border, not really. =p This, this is where the action is.

To me the enthralling atmosphere begins at the very beginning, when Magnus talks to Yumil, and keeps going all the way through from the scene where Destin saves that revolutionary and you free Raskin. It's all just so perfectly done.

The first time, I agree the game catches you. However, after several playthroughs, I think this is about my 5th or 6th, it's semi boring. And it's been so long, I forgot that moment when the Ogres first appear. It was AWESOME.

Yeah I'll have to agree with Sty. First time it's like, WOW. after that though, I sat there thinking, COME ON GET TO THE DAMNED OGRES.

Personally i still love the whole game. But once you get used to having the high level characters and playing the tougher units, whenever i play though again im kinda looking forward to different things the whole time. I really wish there was more to do at the end though. This game isnt as bad as most games but i hate games that once youve gotten some of the really sweet ass characters and awesome weapons and things like that, its the end of the game and you hardly get to use them. I mean am i really such a genious that im the only one that realizes that you should be able to max characters out near halfway through the game and then maybe two thirds of the way through you max out weapons and armor? So you can actually enjoy the end of the game. Maybe not exactly at those point but im sick of working to get all the sweet stuff and not being able to even use it much.

I am an OB64 addict.
I really care not how old the game or the system might be. It's a great game.
I have just liberated Gunther Piedmont and recruited Asnabel and Katreda. I think I will start a parallel file and go the low CF route, just cuz I like Carth so much. Most of the other low CF special characters do not do much for me.
The game I really have to play now is MotBQ. I bought that a year ago off EBay and have never gotten around to it...

You should try Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together for the Playstation. It's part of the Ogre Battle saga, but it's a bit different from Ogre Battle, but they are both very good.
Fixed yer color.

No, I'm not playing it now. I don't like Ogre Battle 64 THAT much.
I have to agree with the people who said that the beginning is slow. It was entirely too predictable the first time around. But when the Ogres show up, I felt like I was playing Ogre Battle. Not about boring politics but leading a revolution against enemeies with big bad scary monsters to fight against and hopefully recruit to your cause.

I think the reason I dislike the beginning of the game is because the world is so gray and there really doesn't seem to be a right or wrong. Really, it's fascinating one time through, but I hate having to be in that situation. Thankfully, the giant head-mashing ogres clarify right and wrong.

I'm in the scene at Talpea where you decide whether or not to make peace. You can get 2 L&P there and I MUST use one to successfully recruit a Black Knight. So I've got through to the point of recruitment 3 times and the guy keeps refusing to join, so I start the level over every time until one agrees to join.

My last play through I ended up with8 L&P!!! 8!!! Never had that many before. I got 2 Angel Knights, 2 Saturos, 2 Black Knights, a Pumpkin Head, and Ahzi Dahaka, booyow, never had that much sucess either!! *I never reset....no...noooooo i didn't.*

Damned if I know. I liberated every town in that map and as far as I can remember, all of the other towns but a few. My first play-through ended with Leia, Troi, Asnabel, Katreda, Biske, and Europea, so at least I'm doing better.

It's very easy to miss her. You need a neutralish-highish CF, and she's very touchy about what it needs to be to join you.

Well, I just got Debonair last night! ^_^ Now I just need to finish Chapter 3 and grab Destin in about 2 missions. I'll most likely get Gilbert, I think my CF is that high, but I've no interest in using him on my team of 5. I'm putting Vad instead. ^_^

I've probably got a crappy CF going right now. I captured a lot of towns in the beginning of the game, so that probably messed me up a bit.

Just out of curiosityy, does CF start at 0 or 50?
Don't feel bad, Arc. My first playthrough yielded a 0 CF.

Post by Dio Da Cool on Dec 14, 2005 23:50:00 GMT -5
I am about 85% sure it starts at 50.

Here's one, does anyone know if the enemy stronghold counts towards CF? It never says if you capture or liberate it. It's always at 50 morale, and I always have Magnus liberate it, he's lawful.
