Well. I'll be twenty this year, and after the summer want to take some time to play a good RPG or two. Anyone got any recommendations? Hopefully findable... -_-
I'd prefer computer platform, by the way, or PS2. I'm afraid the rest of my platforms are a bit old to find games for... T_T
Thanks.

Well, I know it's not exactly a rpg, But I've been playing Rome: Total War.
Really good strategy game, one of the best I think. Very time consuming though.
Basically you are a family under the Roman Senate And you goal is to conquer lands in the name of Rome. It's set at the time when Roman Empire was just getting started. There other empires getting their start at this time as well. Blah blah blah...
I could go on and on, but you should play it.

Phantasy Star Universe is coming out soon, and while you are going to see it advertised as a MMRPG, it has a one player game that is going to be amazing. I know your not into online games, but you don't ever need to go online to enjoy the huge solo game it will have.
Its not an RPG, but Psychonauts is THE game right now. Its a platformer, with twisted humor and really good writing. I wish my computer were strong enough to play it, but you know, graphics cards...

Demon Stone for ps2 is pretty fun, but id rent it, its pretty simple to beat, but worth playing a couple times too on different difficulties.
Star Ocean is ok, but youd have to like something like Tales of Symphonia. Reminds me a lot of that game.
Thats all i can think of off the top of my head that i can speak for.

I forgot to tell all of you! Before I left home I watched the endings to all three Soul Blazer games, then preceded to delete ALL OF MY ROMS. No more having all Chrono Trigger endings, no more having all the Lufia 2 equipment, no more Final Fantasy anything! I deleted hundreds of hours of gaming. Its sort of relieving.
I'm sure I've asked this before, but Arc have you played Illusion of Gaia?

I finally broke down and got the ROM for IoG. It's rather interesting, to say the least. The dungeons are long and tedious, though. =\

Will people get angry if I recomend Pokemon? I liked Pokemon. All of them. The games, I mean. Not all 350-something odd monsters. I have my friend's PS2, I should make him give me Disgaea.

Actually i played the first pokemon, i think anyway. The red and blue. It wasnt ever cool but the gameplay was ok. Reminded me of Dragon Warrior, i think thats why i liked it. As soon as it started to blow up and the other games came out, needless to say, i havent played since.

But the plot. And the characters. So good. Will fights with a flute! I thought the story was okay, the constantly shifting perspective was cool, if flawed, and the dungeons were the best part. Damn, Freedan and the energy thing were cool. Lufia 2 Grandia Valkyrie Profile Skies of Arcadia Legends Shining Force Them's some of my all-time favorites.

I forgot one that i consider pretty good. Actually puts having good hand eye coordnation in to RPG. Not the best game out there but i like the gameplay. The story and voiceovers are weak, but what else is new? I digress. The game is Gladius.

I really liked Gladius, but I've had bad luck with the copies I've managed to acquire. The first one, was for PS2 and my brother borrowed it, and unfortunetly gave it back without me knowing while I was only in Imperia (I started in Nordagh). The second time, many months later, I decided I might as well start over and got the much better gamecube version, which had much better load times. I got to the Windward Steppes. Unfortunetly for that run, my copy is defective, and sometimes it just stops between load times
It's really a good game though, I enjoyed it a lot. The classes were nice and varied, though I didn't like how crappy my bandit and secutor are. They kick complete ass in a few situations, but most of the time they get their ass kicked by a barbarian or a legionaire.
