So my comp will nto shut down with the power button on the tower... well not entirely true it shuts down...but restars in like 2-3 mins!! WTF? Oh and it does the same with the power off in the start menu. SOOOOooo the only way to SHUT IT DOWN is to hold the power button till it goes off... any ideas people?

Sounds like your OS may be bad. Although, if you just press the power button, it's supposed to reboot. And holding it in ~10 seconds is a hard shutdown, it's wired in. Those are both normal.

OS is a new disk, reinstalled. Didn't knwo that about the power button.
